Delete your ReefDex account
You can delete your ReefDex account at any time, from inside the app or by asking us. Deleting is permanent and cannot be undone.
From inside the app
- Open ReefDex and go to Profile.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account.
- Confirm. Your account and data are removed straight away.
Without the app
If you cannot reach the app, email henkvdmolen1@gmail.com from the address you signed up with, asking us to delete your account. We will confirm within 30 days, and in practice much sooner.
What is deleted, and what is kept

These observations feed open marine biodiversity research. If you would rather they were deleted too, say so in your email and we will remove them. |
| Payment records | Held by our payment provider, Stripe, for as long as tax and accounting law requires. We cannot delete those earlier. |
Deletion is immediate. Backups of the database roll over within 30 days, after which no copy of your personal data remains.
Cancelling a subscription
Deleting your account does not by itself refund a payment. If you hold a lifetime licence or a subscription, mention it in your email and we will sort the billing side out with you.
